Fall Season: Nordonia Boys Varsity Golf Team Competes in Nordonia Classic

The Nordonia boys varsity golf team had a busy week, participating in two major events: the Hoover Co-Ed Invitational on Monday and the Nordonia Classic on Tuesday. The Knights showed their skills and determination in both tournaments, finishing 11th out of 18 teams in the Nordonia Classic and recording an overall team score of 451 at the Hoover Co-Ed Invitational.

The Nordonia varsity golf team achieved a commendable team score of 338 in the recent Nordonia Classic tournament. The Knights’ performance was marked by the standout performances of their senior players. Drew Kitzmiller led the charge with an impressive score of 76, closely followed by Ben Mallis, who carded a 77. Ryan Mallis contributed an 87, while Caden Cook and Grant Lucician posted scores of 98 and 99, respectively.

The medalist of the tournament was Zach Butcher from Highland, who clinched the title with a score of 72 after a thrilling birdie on the first playoff hole. Other notable medalists include Max Devins from Aurora with a score of 72, Austin Wilhoit from Stow-Munroe Falls with a score of 74, and Alec Miller from Shaker Heights with a score of 75.

The team is currently engaged in a competitive 18-hole match event against Brecksville-Broadview Heights at the picturesque Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club. This course holds a special place for the Nordonia golfers, as it serves as their home turf. In the ongoing event, the Nordonia boys are striving to secure a notable position.
