Get ready to don your fanciest hats and southern-inspired attire as Ground Xero Gastropub transforms into Derby central on May 3rd. The hotspot will open at 11am for a day filled with Southern hospitality and racing excitement.
“We’re bringing a taste of Churchill Downs to Northeast Ohio,” says the event organizer. “From authentic Kentucky Hot Brown sliders to handcrafted mint juleps, guests will experience all the Derby traditions without leaving town.”
The celebration features a mouthwatering menu including pulled pork sliders, roast beef crostinis, mac n’ cheese, and a gourmet charcuterie board. Derby-themed desserts will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.
Specialty drinks include traditional mint juleps, Kentucky bourbon barrel ale, Woodford Reserve Spire, Oaks Lily cocktails, and Kentucky Mules.
Entertainment includes a live DJ from 4-8pm, a Derby photo spot complete with props, and a $5 “Pick a Horse” contest. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Couple, Most Dapper Gent, and Best Lady’s Hat.
The festivities begin at 11am with the main race broadcast scheduled for late afternoon.
