Joshua Henderson shared with our writer, who also has the name Joshua, the significance of his brother Jon in his football development.

Family plays a significant role in our growth and development. Could you discuss how your brother has contributed to your growth process, both on and off the field? Jon has always been my biggest supporter. He played a big role in my recruiting process. I always looked up to my brother and we always did everything together when we were younger. From playing on one little league teams to playing on the same line in the front yard he was always there.”

“With Him playing Division one football at Valparaiso university. He has already been through what I went through so every time I was stuck with the recruiting process I would always call him and he would always be there whether it’s football or life.”

Reflecting on his commitment to God, Henderson reveals the role of faith to his personal growth and football development.

Your strong Christian background has been a cornerstone of your journey. Could you share how your faith has influenced your path in both football and life? My Faith always comes first in anything I do. I am blessed beyond measure for God to allow me to play this game. God has used me as a vessel to connect with younger people to build a true relationship with God.”

“I thank him everyday for allowing me to reach others and lead others to him. God gives me the Courage to push forward even if I feel like it’s hard. I have a tattoo on my left forearm that says the scripture verse Joshua 1:9 which says “Be strong and courageous do not be afraid or dismayed for the lord God is with you wherever you go.” It means you don’t have to be afraid or lose courage because God is with you and he is our strength. If you acknowledge Him, he will lead you in the right direction.”
