Why Are Bees Important?
I think the bees need to be saved. Bees are a very important part of our ecosystem. “If the bee disappeared from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live”-Albert Einstein. They undertake a part in helping us stay alive! Also, they have so many important jobs in our ecosystem, like helping plants spread. They are important because many of our useful resources rely on the bees. For example, they are pollinators. They pollinate cotton that is used to make our clothes. Bees aren’t just important for humans. Many animals that feed off bees would die if bees went extinct such as birds.

1st Reason We Should Save The Bees
It is important that bees are pollinators because bees pollinate the plants that provide oxygen for us to breathe. “For so work the honey bee, creatures that by rule in nature, teach the act of order to a peopled kingdom”-William Shakespeare. Pollen is used for transferring the male DNA of a plant to the female part of a plant to make new plants and bees move the pollen from the male part of the flower to the female part. Pollinators, like bees, produce ⅓ of the food that we eat giving us a lot of fruits and vegetables. One honey bee colony can pollinate more than 100 million flowers a day!

2nd Reason We Should Save The Bees
Another reason that bees are important is a lot of our useful everyday resources rely on bees. Like cotton to spin into yarn for clothes. Cotton also provides cellulose which is used to make plastic, automobile cushions, furniture, and mattresses. People go through about 80 billion pieces of clothing each year! Bees also pollinate more than 90% of the leading global crop types! Bee’s aren’t just important for us. Many organisms that feed off bees would die if bees went extinct! Martins, Mocking birds, Thrushes, and lots of other birds feed on bees and would go extinct if bees went extinct. Without these animals, animals like the Horned Owl that eat these birds would go extinct as well.

Why Are Bees Going Extinct?
Some bees die because of dangerous chemicals and gas, like the smoke that comes out of cars. Other bees go extinct because we destroy their homes. When we cut down trees, we are taking away one possible home for bees. Bees build their home hanging from a tree branch or even inside a hollow in a tree.
