Letter to the Editor from Trainer Jeff

Dear Nordonia Family,

It is with a heavy heart that must inform you that I will not be accepting the offer from University Hospitals to remain at Nordonia High School. See related story. After reviewing their offer and talking it over with my family, it was just not the right move for me make. As much as I enjoyed my nearly 2 decades at Nordonia, it must come to an end. I want to thank everyone for their support and friendship over the years and especially these last few days. Nordonia is a fantastic place to work with the best coaches, staff, administration, student athletes and parents. It will be odd not to be back starting Monday but I have to do what’s right for me and my family. I wish everyone at Nordonia the best of luck this season and beyond.

I will continue working for the Cleveland Clinic as the athletic trainer at Trinity High School. I will also continue working at the Twinsburg Family Health Center providing aquatic therapy at the Twinsburg Fitness Center and helping out with concussion patients on Wednesday’s so I will still be in the area. I also want to let everyone know that Cleveland Clinic did offer Nordonia free athletic training services as well. We did not, however, commit to any advertising dollars. That part of the story was left out of Nordonia’s announcement and thought you all should know. I will miss working at and seeing all my friends at Nordona greatly but also look forward to making new ones and the new challenges that await. Fall won’t be the same without everyone jammed into the athletic training room wanting everything all at once. Brenda, I’m sorry but you are going to have to find someone new to hit play for your cheer music. I hear Dylan is available. I am definitely going to miss watching the sunset while dragging the baseball/softball fields in the spring! Nordonia has been a big part of my life and my career for the past 19 years and wish things could of turned out differently. Know that I appreciate and will miss you all!

Sincerely,
TJ
