Nordonia Knights Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Hudson on Monday. Hudson scored on a double by L Gomersal in the first inning, a groundout by K Carrillo in the first inning, a triple by E. Malaska in the second inning, a error in the second inning, a double by M Roukey in the second inning, a single by Carrillo in the second inning, a single by P Albrecht in the second inning, and a groundout by A Hill in the second inning.
The Nordonia Knights Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hudson, giving up nine runs.
Hudson fired up the offense in the first inning. Gomersal doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Hudson scored seven runs in the second inning. E. Malaska, K Mack, Roukey, Carrillo, Albrecht, and Hill each drove in runs during the inning.
Laney Wilhelm was in the pitcher’s circle for Nordonia Knights Varsity. The righty went six innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits and striking out three.
Kaley Meadows, Grace Whapham, Wilhelm, Elizabeth Shubert, and Riley Monroe all had one hit to lead Nordonia Knights Varsity.
Hudson tallied 11 hits on the day. Gomersal, Roukey, and Mack all managed multiple hits for Hudson.
