Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights Loses Lead Early in Defeat, Lose 15-4

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-4 loss to Wadsworth on Monday. Wadsworth scored on a single by #13 and an error in the first inning.

The Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Wadsworth, giving up 15 runs.

Wadsworth got on the board in the first inning. #13 singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights notched four runs in the third inning. Laura Garey, Alyssa Smigel, and Amy Haselow each drove in runs during the inning.

Wadsworth scored nine runs in the fourth inning. Wadsworth’s big inning was driven by walks by #14, #4, and #13, a single by #11, a groundout by #8, a fielder’s choice by #24, an error on a ball put in play by #10, and a double by #22.

#12 was in the circle for Wadsworth. The bulldog lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out two.

Isla Lepri was in the pitcher’s circle for Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights. The pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over two and a third innings. Gracie Smith threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
