Nordonia Wrestling Knights: Israel Petite crowned Champion at the Suburban League Tournament

The Nordonia High School wrestling team has been doing great in the past two weeks, competing in tournaments away from home. On January 20, 2024, they were at the Grizzly Invitational Tournament at Wadsworth High School. It was a tough event, but here’s how they did it:

In the 285th division, A. Bottiggi beat B. Eziuka. In the 144th division, B. Tucker won against I. Petite with a 9-2 score. In the 157th division, the D. Marines won against K. King. In the 165th division, J. Willen beat Z. Lopez with a 3-1 score.

Nordonia’s wrestlers placed well too.Israel Petite (144) came in 2nd, Matt Hamad (157) was 4th, Kyle Miller (165) got 6th place, Grant Lefeld (215) was 4th, Asher Wilson (285) also came in 4th.

At the Suburban League Tournament, Nordonia had a great showing, with two wrestlers winning their divisions: Israel Petite (144) won his division and Grant Lefeld (215) also won his division.

At the North Olmsted Daytime Duals on Thursday, February 1, 2024, Nordonia did really well. They beat North Olmsted High School with a score of 60-14 and won against Cuyahoga Heights 52-23.

Then, at the Madison JV Tournament on Saturday, February 3, 2024, some of Nordonia’s wrestlers stood out:
Danny Stutler (120) got 2nd place.
Paul Fahmy (126) came in third.
RJ Jefferson (150) was second.
Trent Foster (190) finished third.

The Nordonia Wrestling Knights have more exciting matches coming up. They’ll compete against Stow-Munroe Falls on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Cleveland St. Then, the next day, they’ll host the Nordonia Super Duals at 9:00 AM. Stay tuned for more of their wrestling action!
