Obituary: Nancy Louise Orahoske

Nancy Louise Orahoske, age 62, of Peninsula Ohio, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 5th, 2023 after struggling for years with ongoing health issues.
Nancy was born in Louisville KY, to parents Alice Simpson and Frank Simpson. Nancy met the love of her life, Joseph Orahoske while she was visiting her brother in Rome, Italy. Joe was there on leave from the military. They were married in 1982 and had two children, Jason and Sarah Orahoske. Nancy and Joe built their family home together over the course of their life and created many happy memories hosting holidays and special occasions in their beautiful house. They enjoyed traveling with their children, working on their house, and participating in community events. When Joe’s health began to decline in 2012, Nancy shifted her focus to caring for him until he passed away in 2016. In the last years of his life, he said that the military was the best thing that ever happened to him because it led him to Nancy.
Nancy worked for various city offices including Stow Court House and Peninsula Mayor’s Court. She was the backbone of any office in which she was employed and proud of her role in local government. She was an active member of Peninsula United Methodist Church and often spoke fondly of her church family. Her connection to her close knit town was a point of pride for Nancy and she was known by all as a pillar in the community.
She was preceded in death by her soulmate Joseph Orahoske who was sure to be waiting for her on the other side; and by her father and mother Frank and Alice Simpson. She is survived by her children Jason Orahoske and Sarah Orahoske; a granddaughter Claire Orahoske; and by her brother Alan Simpson. Nancy leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends.
