It’s hard to believe that winter is upon us and winter sports are starting. Both the Nordonia Knights boys and girls bowling teams are coming off successful seasons, with the girls team becoming the 2023 champions. Both teams started off the season strong again this year with a win down in Columbus for the Ohio High School Athletic Association kickoff tournament.
The boys had an amazing three rounds, placing 10th overall for the start of the season. The score of the 1st round was 898 points, the 2nd with 822, and the 3rd round with 980 points. Overall, the team total was 2700 points. Drew Kitzmiller placed 10th overall in the tournament with 204 points in the first game, 212 in the second, and 197 in the third, having a total of 613 points overall.
The girls also had an amazing three rounds, placing 5th overall for the start of the season. The girls had a total of 716 points in the 1st round, 766 in the 2nd, and 895 in the third. The girls ended with a total of 2377 points overall. Kolbey Lewin placed 6th overall in the tournament with 154 points in the 1st round, 190 in the 2nd, and 213 in the 3rd, having a total of 557 points overall.
The Knights will compete next at 8:30 am on Sunday, December 2nd, 2023 versus the Norton High School Panthers. We wish them luck in Norton.
