Through Sullivan’s Eye: A Cleveland Story

Until recent years we had a novelty store on Coventry Rd. It was stocked with the kind of stuff that teenagers back in the day found advertised in the back of comic books.
I was at a Coventry Road outdoor patio restaurant for lunch with our daughter Kitty and family. Her young son Kieran was totally bored and obviously wanted to be somewhere else rather than with adults sipping adult refreshments while waiting for lunch to be served.
I took his hand and walked with him to the store, a ‘magical’ place to enter. Among the  gimmicks we bought that afternoon were some of my favorites – handbuzzers. As we walked back to the restaurant we both armed ourselves with a locked and loaded handbuzzer.
Kitty could see the excitement on Kieran’s face from a block away.
