Involuntary Manslaughter Arrest in Green and Corrupting Another with Drugs

On April 16, 2019, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Green Fire Department responded to a 911 call in the City of Green for a reported drug overdose. The 36 year old Green resident was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined that the cause of death was related to a drug overdose of Carfentanil. The Sheriff Office and the Summit County Drug Unit determined the man had been purchasing heroin from an individual named Ellis Wilson. On the date of his death, he purchased what he believed to be heroin from Mr. Wilson. It was later determined the drug he actually purchased was Carfentanil.

A search warrant was executed at Ellis Wilson’s residence in the City of Akron. Investigators recovered drug paraphernalia used to prepare drugs for sale and suspected Carfentanil.

On May 23, 2019, Ellis Wilson, age 25 was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1) and Corrupting another with Drugs (F-2) Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
