Nordonias Varsity Girls Volleyball Team demonstrated their dominance in a 3-0 victory over Canton McKinley High School, securing their spot in the next round of playoffs. The match occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.
Nordonias superiority was evident in all three sets. The first set ended swiftly, with Nordonia winning 25-15. In the second set, they continued their strong performance, securing victory with a score of 25-19. The third set concluded with Nordonia crushing McKinley with a score of 25-9.
The Golden Knight Award was rightfully earned by sophomore Nyjah Russ, who impressed with three kills. This marked her first award of the season, and her remarkable skills made her a deserving recipient.
Other significant contributors to the team’s success included sophomore Rylee Kinnell, who recorded 11 kills and 3 serving points; junior Aleithia Wilson, with 7 kills and 3 serving points; and junior Reese Knotts, who contributed 3 kills and 3 serving points.
With this victory, Nordonia (8-15) advances to the next round of the playoffs. Their next challenge will be against the Boardman Spartans (13-8) at Twinsburg on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 5:30 PM.
