HIGH-SPEED CHASE FROM NORDSTROM RACK
A retail theft at Nordstrom Rack on E. Aurora Road escalated into a police pursuit after suspects fled with $329.81 in merchandise. According to police reports, a female suspect threatened a store employee, stating “take your hand off the cart or I will knock the f#$% out of you” before fleeing the scene. The suspects escaped in a silver Genesis with Florida plates, leading police on a pursuit from SR 82 until I-271 northbound near Ledge Road, where officers terminated the chase. Both suspects face multiple charges including Failure to Comply (F3), Theft (M1), and Complicity (M1).

PORCH THEFT ON CREEKSIDE DRIVE
Police responded to a report of a stolen UPS package on Creekside Drive. The victim reported that a package valued at $400 was delivered at 11:43 AM on February 14th but was missing when they returned home around 8:00 PM. The resident’s Ring doorbell camera was not functioning at the time. A neighbor offered to check their security cameras for any evidence.

SELF-CHECKOUT THEFT AT WALMART
Monet Ladson was arrested at Walmart after failing to scan 14 items totaling $127.93 at self-checkout. According to police reports, despite being notified by staff about not scanning all items, Ladson continued to the lobby where loss prevention stopped her. She was charged with Petty Theft (M-1), booked into Macedonia Jail, and later released on a $525 bond.

WALMART SHOPLIFTING ARREST
Lachone Scott was arrested at Walmart on Macedonia Commons Boulevard after attempting to leave with unpaid merchandise valued at $41.38. According to police reports, when confronted by loss prevention about the merchandise in her car, Scott told staff to “just take it back.” Security footage showed Scott attempting to check out but her card was declined. After being directed to customer service, she briefly stood at the counter before taking her cart past all payment points into the parking lot. Scott faces charges of Theft (M-1) and Failure to Reinstate (U-M) through Macedonia Mayor’s Court.

IDENTITY THEFT AND PHONE SCAM
A Macedonia resident reported receiving a suspicious AT&T bill for $138.69. The victim discovered unknown persons had used his social security number to open an account and purchase an iPhone 16 plus. The resident has frozen his accounts and filed reports with AT&T’s fraud department.

BEST BUY FRAUD ATTEMPT
Best Buy employees prevented a fraud attempt when a suspect tried using a fake ID to obtain $1,200 in AT&T credit for an iPhone. During arrest, police found a post-it note containing the social security number matching the stolen identity. The suspect was charged with criminal tools.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Police responded to a medical emergency on Skyland Drive where a resident was found unresponsive. Despite having complained of stomach pain the previous evening and showing elevated blood sugar levels, the individual had declined immediate medical attention. The resident was pronounced deceased.
