Nordonia Knights Weekly Sports Recap

Varsity Football

The Nordonia Knights pulled off an exciting win against Stow-Munroe Falls to close out the regular season on a high note! The game was packed with energy and standout plays, including an unforgettable moment when an interception bounced off two players’ hands before landing perfectly into the arms of a Knight. The crowd went wild as the defense stepped up big time, helping secure the victory.

With this win, Nordonia finishes the regular season with a 7–3 record, while Stow drops to 3–7. The Knights now move on to the playoffs, where they’ll face Twinsburg at home in what’s sure to be an intense matchup. Fans are encouraged to come out, pack the stands, and show their Knight pride as the team begins its playoff run.

Freshman Football

The freshman Knights showed incredible effort and determination this week, tying Stow 20–20 in a thrilling game that came down to the wire. The young team continues to grow stronger each week, showing flashes of great potential for the years ahead.

Their final record stands at 4–5–1, while Stow finishes the season at 5–3–2. The coaching staff has praised the team’s progress and hard work throughout the season, highlighting their commitment to learning and improving with every game.

Volleyball

Nordonia’s volleyball team wrapped up a strong and competitive season, though it ended with a tough loss to Hoover, 3–1. Despite falling short, the Knights demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and energy all year long.

Coach and players alike reflected on the season with pride, noting how much the team grew both on and off the court. From big wins to learning moments, this year’s squad gave fans plenty to cheer about and created memories that will carry into next season.

Soccer

The Knights’ soccer team finished their season with a 4–12–2 record after a hard-fought match against North. While the results didn’t always go their way, the team showed heart, hustle, and unity throughout the season.

As the season comes to an end, the seniors are saying their goodbyes to the Knights program. Many are preparing to move on to college, bringing with them the lessons, friendships, and experiences they’ve gained on the field. The team thanks them for their dedication and leadership over the years.

Ice Hockey

The excitement isn’t over yet—Nordonia’s ice hockey season is just around the corner! The team is gearing up for practices and preseason conditioning, with official updates expected soon. Fans can look forward to another great year on the ice as the Knights take on the competition and look to build momentum early in the season.

It’s been a busy and exciting time for Nordonia athletics! From thrilling finishes on the football field to the teamwork displayed in volleyball and soccer, our student-athletes continue to make the community proud.

Hello I am Christopher Hovanetz your new Nordonia sportswriter. I am 11yrs old and it’s my last year at Lee Eaton 6th grade. I am very interested in sports and happy to get this wonderful opportunity to help spread my knowledge of the sport/sports. I play Nordonia youth football.
