Moving sale offers 50 percent off collectibles, sports memorabilia and more ahead of an October relocation
Lisa’s Treasures is preparing for a major change. The shop is relocating from its current location at 9425 Olde 8 Rd #6 in Northfield to the former Dollar General building in the Northfield Village Plaza, near Goodwill. Owner Lisa said the new space will offer nearly four times the room she has now.
The current shop sits at about 2,300 square feet. The new location will give her roughly 9,000 square feet to work with, along with extra storage she has not yet been able to unpack. Lisa said the additional space will let her bring in new inventory rather than moving everything she already has.
Moving Sale Starts This Week
A moving sale begins Wednesday, August 26, with 50 percent off everything on the walls and shelves. That includes art work, glass, clothing, toys, books, small kitchen appliances, tools, sports memorabilia, jewelry and collectibles.
Furniture is not included in the initial discount. Lisa said the furniture will stay in the store until she is ready to make the move, since she still needs it in the meantime. Buyers looking to purchase furniture pieces will need to be able to transport them on their own. Staff will help load items into a vehicle, but the store does not have an independent delivery crew.
Antiques and sports memorabilia are part of the sale as well. Lisa said one certified collectible tied to a holiday themed line normally sells for around 300 dollars and is priced at 200 during the sale.
A New Location With More Room
The Northfield Village Plaza is filling in around Lisa’s Treasures. A bridal shop and a large spa are both under construction nearby, along with other smaller businesses moving into the plaza. Lisa said the plaza already sits near Goodwill, a pawn shop and several restaurants, creating a stretch where shoppers can move between several stores in one trip.
Lisa said she expects her store to open in October, as long as permits and inspections go according to plan.
Where The Inventory Comes From
Much of what fills the shelves at Lisa’s Treasures comes from storage locker auctions rather than donations. Lisa said the shop does not currently accept donated or consigned items, though that could change in the future.
