County Executive Shapiro announces ‘Wagging in a Winter Wonderland’ adoption event

SUMMIT COUNTY, OHIO—Whether you’re heading out to the sledding hill or taking a wintry walk through  your neighborhood, wouldn’t it be more fun with a tail wagging next to you? Because the snow is falling  in Summit County and all the tails at Animal Control are Wagging in a Winter Wonderland!

While the snow might also bring sore backs from shoveling and cold, reluctant paws—among many other  nuisances—it’s still hard to deny the magic a snowy winter season can have, with memories made getting  warm inside and out in the cold alike.

To make more snowy memories with our furry friends waiting for their forever families, County Executive  Shapiro is announcing the Wagging in a Winter Wonderland adoption event beginning Tuesday, January  7 through Sunday, February 2.

During the adoption event, costs will be reduced to $28 for dogs (regularly $94) and $5 for cats (regularly  $60). All animals are microchipped, fully vetted (includes bloodwork, flea treatments, intestinal de worming, spay or neuter, and vaccinations) and ready to be taken home. Those who adopt a dog will also  receive a 2025 Summit County Dog License included in the adoption cost.

Residents can call 330-643-2845 to schedule an appointment or visit the facility during business hours. To  browse pictures of adoptable pets, visit Summit County Animal Control’s Facebook or PetFinder pages.
