Longwood Manor Status Report For June 2023

SHALL I POUR?
The tea was flowing on two Saturdays last month as, once again… no, rather, twice again… the Ladies were celebrated at Longwood Manor.

The second annual Ladies Tea was held on Saturday, May 13th. Twenty-eight ladies enjoyed finger sandwiches, cakes, and an assortment of flavored teas. Debbie Mikulski and Dorothy Berman handled food preparation. John Leben and Les Berman supplied kitchen help. Thanks to members of Boy Scout Troop #882 and Cub Scout Pack #280 for serving the food and teas. Also, thanks to Jan Radigan for her collection and use of the teapots. Look for pictures on our website soon.

May 21st saw the annual Mother/Daughter Luncheon of the Brecksville Chapter #537 Order of the Eastern Star celebrated at Longwood Manor. A selection of teas was once again served along with chicken and pasta salads, dinner rolls, gelatin, and an assortment of cakes for dessert. Eastern Star member Sandy Zikursh did a presentation portraying Dorothy Tedrick, housekeeper for Longwood Manor and Colonel William Frew Long, presenting some little known facts about the Colonel and the Manor house. Thanks to Dorothy Berman, Les Berman, Bob Berteau, Peggy Berteau, Kathy Heaney, Monica James, Rich James, John Leben, Debbie Mikulski, and Kathy Stec for setting up the tables, food prep, and serving.
