Tis the season to clean up those yards! Since we are all asked to stay at home – it’s the perfect time to do it.
If you live in a city or village, when raking up trash, twigs, leaves, dead landscape materials, etc., remember that these items may not be burned. They create awful amounts of air pollution. With many more neighbors out cleaning their yards or going for a walk, keep the air clear for them to breathe by finding a different way to get rid of yard waste.
Small fires with ONLY dry firewood are acceptable, but not the wet yard waste….and NEVER trash!
For those of you in townships, burning dried leaves is allowed when your fire is at least 1,000 feet from any neighborhing homes.
Stay home. Stay safe. Keep the air clean for all of us by not burning your yard waste or trash!! To learn more about Ohio EPA’s open burning laws, click here.
