Rep. Weinstein calls for the immediate resignation of Speaker Householder

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today called for the resignation of Republican Speaker of the House Larry Householder (R-Glenford) following federal charges that he engaged in a $60 million bribery, racketeering scheme. This is the second FBI investigation into House GOP leadership in three years.

“The House needs to be in session working on the issues affecting the hardworking men and women of Ohio throughout the current economic and public health crises. If we are to do so, we must have competent leadership,” said Rep. Weinstein. “These corruption charges are a breach of the public trust and void the leadership currently vested in Larry Householder. Ohioans deserve better, and he must resign immediately.”
