From the Superintendent of Nordonia Hills City Schools,
Dear Nordonia Band Families,
Good afternoon. We want to begin by emphasizing that we remain fully committed to providing our band students with the highest quality of education in a safe and inclusive environment. To this end, with the assistance of Dr. Shon Smith, we have partnered with the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio to guide and support matters pertaining to culture, climate, and inclusivity in our Band program. There will be coaching, focus groups, and workshops for all stakeholders, and on-going needs assessments beginning now and into the next school year.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we conducted an investigation into the incident that occurred during band class on March 23. We respect our parents and students
that came forward to provide feedback. All of it was thoughtfully noted and has been, and will continue to be used to meet the needs of our band students moving forward.
We can inform you that Mr. Weaver will be resuming his duties after Spring Break, Monday, April 10, 2023. Please understand that as a matter of policy, we will not discuss personnel matters with you.
