Balanced offensive attack leads Knights to convincing victory at home
Macedonia – The Nordonia Knights put together a complete performance Friday night, overwhelming the visiting Solon Comets 48-14 in a game that showcased the team’s explosive offensive capabilities.


Nordonia controlled the game from the opening quarter, jumping to a 14-0 lead before Solon could respond. The Knights never looked back, outgaining the Comets 460-195 in total yards while forcing two turnovers.
The Knights’ aerial attack proved unstoppable, with quarterback Fakult throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns on 13-of-21 passing. The receiving corps was led by Fisher, who hauled in 82 yards, while Jackson and Atha each contributed touchdown catches of 43 and 22 yards respectively.
On the ground, Whapham anchored the rushing attack with 73 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown. Mayes added 50 yards on five attempts, averaging 10 yards per carry.
The scoring began early when Montiel punched in a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, followed by a 37-yard touchdown pass from Atha to Myers. Nordonia added another rushing touchdown from Whapham before halftime to take a 21-14 lead into the break.
The third quarter belonged entirely to the Knights, who scored three unanswered touchdowns to break the game open. Fakult connected with Fisher for 38 yards, then found Jackson for 43 yards, and capped the quarter with a 22-yard strike to Atha.
Arbutina added the final touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 6-yard pass to Vawters.
Nordonia’s defense forced two interceptions while holding Solon to just 52 rushing yards on 30 attempts. The Comets managed only 143 passing yards on 16-of-35 attempts.
The Knights committed no turnovers while limiting penalties to six for 45 yards, demonstrating the discipline that has characterized their play this season.
The victory improves Nordonia to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Suburban League National Conference play. The Knights have now outscored opponents 211-80 this season while extending their winning streak to five games.
Nordonia now prepares for their next challenge when they travel to North Royalton on September 26. The Bears enter the matchup at 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play, having dropped three straight games. North Royalton has been outscored 132-107 this season and sits last in the Suburban National standings.
