Macedonia Police Blotter: Felony Shoplifting, OVI with Weapons, and Gas Station Fraud Lead to Arrests

MACEDONIA, Ohio – The Macedonia Police Department managed a high volume of criminal activity in mid-March 2026, highlighted by a felony shoplifting arrest involving an electric bike, an intoxicated driver found with a loaded revolver, and a significant internal theft operation at a local Speedway.

Felony Shoplifting and Resisting Arrest at Walmart

Retail theft remained a primary focus for officers at the Walmart located at 8160 Macedonia Commons. On March 21, 2026, a male suspect was arrested after allegedly stealing $1,264.06 worth of merchandise. The suspect reportedly used a tool to cut a security chain, threw a receipt from a different store at an employee, and attempted to flee the scene on an electric bike. He was ultimately charged with felony theft, possessing criminal tools, and resisting arrest.

  • March 10, 2026: A female with active warrants was charged with theft and criminal trespassing after allegedly stealing $592.45 in merchandise.

  • March 10, 2026: Another female was arrested for theft; police made arrangements for her mother to take custody of her daughter to avoid involving Child Protective Services.

OVI and Weapons Charges at Office Max

On March 14, 2026, Macedonia units were alerted to an intoxicated male who had reportedly been offering liquor to individuals at a Valvoline. Officers located the suspect in a 2000 Saturn in the Office Max parking lot on E. Aurora Road. During the stop, police discovered a loaded .38 revolver and open alcohol containers. The driver was charged with OVI, carrying concealed weapons, and using weapons while intoxicated.

Internal Fraud and Traffic Offenses

Macedonia investigators uncovered a theft scheme at the Speedway on E. Aurora Road on March 11, 2026. Two employees were charged with tampering with evidence and theft after loss prevention reported they were stealing and cashing lottery tickets, with losses totaling over $800.
